Pleasantly Surprised
I was a little skeptical at first due to some of the reviews, but as the title says, I was pleasantly surprised and my wife was too. The box is made of wood and is lightly stained. The necklace hooks are plastic, however they are functional. There’s plenty of space for jewelry and the hinges on the doors are aligned well. Overall I am very happy with the price. I searched far and wide for this type of jewelry box, that isn’t outrageously priced.

Good, but obvious flaws that shouldn’t be happening for the price.
The box is larger than I thought it would be, which is nice. I thought the hardware would be silver, but it was like aged bronze on the outside and silver on the inside. The box itself feels a bit heavy not lightweight, though I’m pretty sure it’s not real wood. It came with both of the doors broken, but I just super glued them back in place and now they feel strong, but originally they were so weak that they broke in transit where they had been attached. The mirror is also coming off on the top compartment. It started to sag like that over a week’s time (see image). I like to customize my pieces, so I added appliqués and painted the box matte black then painted the hardware on the outside to be aged silver/black, so at least the box is a good base for customization, but i think it should be like half the price that it is. I’m happy that it wasn’t more damaged, but beware that it may come broken and in need of repairs and customizations to make it unique. I’m giving 4/5 stars because for the price it could be sturdier and not come broken/break after only a week of barely any use. I like the way it looks with the windows and I like that I could customize it easily and also the size.
